Caroline Barrett lives in Melbourne, Australia. With a background as a veterinarian, her work reflects a love of the natural world - animals, plants and people.
Caroline loves to create in watercolour, ink, pencil and print, with an eye for fine details and vivid colours. Caroline’s print work focuses on pochoir (stencil) and linocut print techniques.
Through her art, Caroline is passionate about engaging audiences with the biodiversity of local environments – birds, plants, insects and animals. Mindful of today’s climate and habitat challenges, Caroline aims to foster people’s curiosity and care for nature in their backyard, neighbourhood and the wider world.
Caroline is a keen observer, researcher and documenter. She finds inspiration in city, country and coastal landscapes, botanical and zoological gardens, natural history collections and agriculture. Caroline enthusiastically brings together art and science in her work.
